It must be pretty handy as a band if you all live together. It must be even handier if the house you live in, is also your own recording studio. Which makes Glasgow quartet Kassidy, the handiest band in town. When not cooped up in their house of music, the four members (Hamish Fingland, Barrie James O’Neill, Chris Potter and Lewis Andrew) can be found on stage, each brandishing a guitar each, which certainly gives an interesting live perspective.
June 1st sees them play Manchester’s Deaf Institute as well as Leeds’ Cockpit the day after. The dates, part of a 10 show tour next month across the UK will be in preparation to the band playing at the Wickerman festival in July. Following on from last year’s debut album “Hope St”, the band’s follow up album “One Man Army” is out at the end of this month (April 30th).
The album was recorded in an full on week at the legendary Rockfield Studios by long-time collaborator Thomas McNeice (Gang Of Four)and was mixed by McNeice and Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Two Door Cinema Club) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
