Last month we had a colourful performance from Coves, their psychedelic visuals lighting up The Castle’s intimate back-room, and November sees us there again with another incendiary bill sure to brighten up your evening. We’ve got Manchester’s much-loved indie rockers City Reign headlining and launching new single Ahead Of Ideas with us on November 24th, and main support comes from Bristol’s exhilarating five-piece Idles. Tickets are just £5 and available here
Having played for us earlier this year, we’re thrilled to have City Reign back. The band fuse together a love of Idlewild style indie with the energy of early Oasis. They’ve already gained praise from Clash, for whom they played the inaugural issue launch in Manchester. Early EP Numbers For Street Names, saw the band cut out the middleman entirely, releasing on their very own label, Car Boot Records. It was a gamble that paid off, earning them the respect of the BBC, The Independent and most importantly, their fans. Now they’re gearing up to unleashing their debut album next year. This gig will mark the culmination of a tour which sees them take in both Amsterdam and Paris!

Support comes from Bristol’s Idles – a band enveloping the brooding intensity of The Walkmen with the sharpness of Interpol. Their debut EP Welcome is a rollercoaster ride of intense creativity, changing pace frantically while shifting through the gears. Their live show may well leave you screaming with excitement. Here’s the video to our favourite track Two Tone– a song comical and scary in equal measure. Three frontmen battle for attention before a wall of crashing guitars wins the sonic war…
