Manchester’s citywide music event Neighbourhoods Festival 2018 is back for its third year on Saturday 6th October and this year’s line-up has just been announced – with indie rock band Everything Everything headlining the event. These Manchester-based Ivor Novello nominees are among a line-up packed with more than 100 bands and artists from around the world, performing across some of the city’s most renowned music venues.
Announced in late May, the first wave of artists on this year’s line up also sees guitar rock quartet Sundara Karma, Birmingham-based indie rock band Swim Deep, psych-rock group Temples, R&B singer-songwriter Elli Ingram, and indie pop group Clean Cut Kid. After an amazing 12 months, Halifax indie trio The Orielles will also return to the festival along with fellow Northern talent such as Fuzzy Sun, The K’s, and The Lottery Winners.
Emo folk figurehead Get Cape Wear Cape Fly will also perform at the festival along with New York indie eccentric Darwin Deez and loads of other acts including The Night Cafe, Her’s, Teleman, Blaenavon, Cloves, Spector, Abbie Ozzard, Asylums, Chappaqua Wrestling, Delilah, Montagu, Fling, Fred Page, Honey Harper, Husky Loops, Jordan Mackampa, Kawala, Lady Bird, Lucia, Maisie Peters, Marsicans, Pizzagirl, Sports Team, Stereo Honey, The Pale White, The Snuts, Trudy & The Romance, Vistas, Whenyoung, Wild Front, and Zuzu.
More acts are set to be announced for this year’s Neighbourhood festival, which takes place at 13 venues on the south side of the city, in and around Oxford Road. Last year’s successful festival saw bands including Blossoms, Rat Boy, Peace, The View, Billie Marten, Declan McKenna, Cabbage, and many more perform to sold-out crowds and acclaimed reviews. Here’s hoping 2018 will be just as impressive, if not more.
