After releasing their third album Up, Guards And At ‘Em in April, The Pigeon Detectives have been playing live to fans around the country, with recent appearances on the main stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The band, hailing from Rothwell, West Yorkshire will return to the North in November. Performing in Preston, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield – there are plenty of chances for us northerners to see them. Even if you live really north then appearances in Edinburgh and Dundee should suit you.
With songs in their back catalogue including Take Her Back, I’m Not Sorry and This Is An Emergency, expect high intensity and energy in their performances. Lead singer Matt Bowman might want to calm it down a bit after injuring himself on numerous occasions, most notably in 2008 when the band had to cancel some shows after he injured his leg whilst playing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. He’s also managed to fracture his heel when jumping off a speaker at Manchester Academy.
If you see him ready to leap, make sure you’re in a position to catch him.
We’ll be interviewing them at their Manchester gig so check back in November to find out who got injured and who didn’t.
