Innerpartysystem are all set to bring their uncompromising meld of metal and electronic angst to Slam Dunk! The Front Bar Terrace will be theirs from at 8:45, in what should be one of the best moments of the festival. Taking their name from George Orwell’s dystopian futuristic vision in novel, 1984, these American alt-rockers are famed for their live stage lighting and accompanying videos which create an altogether innovative multimedia performance.
The group parted ways with Island Records after their self-titled debut album because they refused to play by the rules imposed on them, a theme which continues to this day. Last year’s astonishing single, American Trash, was released independently after being voted for by fans. The track itself completely placed their post-modern disillusionment inside a new framework, an electro-house blast placed their energy more toward the likes of Pendulum, or Adam Freeland than their alternative rock roots. Now with all expectaitons about their music blown away, prepare to be… well, blown away, by their set. Get ready for an electro ear bashing as the cynically titled Never Be Content, and material from this year’s upcoming second album get an airing.
