The city’s newest street food spot offers bao, Chinese roasts, bubble-tea, taiyaki ice cream and more
A massive, three-floor subterranean street food market promises to bring flavours from East and South East Asia direct to Manchester City Centre as dining concept Hello Oriental officially opens its doors this weekend.
Welcoming visitors from Saturday February 12, this spacious new food venue is located at one of the city’s newest spaces – Circle Square on Oxford Road – and will bring with it an Asian-inspired bakery and café, a Vietnamese restaurant and the UK’s first Hello Oriental supermarket.
Visitors venturing through the three-floor space below Symphony Park will also find Downtown Oriental, a new food hall that takes its cues from the likes of Bang Bang Oriental in London and 1800 Lucky in Miami.
Here, hungry punters will be able to enjoy a range of authentic East and South East Asian cuisine from a fast-paced open kitchen selling bao buns, Chinese roasts, bubble-tea, taiyaki ice cream, dim sum, noodles, sea food and fried rice, alongside a range of Asian beers, cocktails, DJs and live music.

Meanwhile, Hello Bakery will help kick start your day by mixing traditional Asian bakery classics with modern fusion bakes – both served alongside coffees and a curated selection of high-grade teas.
Sitting atop a purpose-built mezzanine, Vietnamese restaurant Rice Paper Pho aims to keep things healthy with fast, fresh and healthy Vietnamese flavours. Expect summer rolls, flavoursome Asian salads and an array of vegan and gluten-free dishes. To round out this brand new food destination, the Hello Oriental supermarket will even let shoppers stock up on some of the latest products, produce and ingredients direct from East Asia.
If all that hasn’t made you hungry and excited to pay this space a visit, we’re not sure what will.
