Swedish alt-folk duo First Aid Kit will return to Manchester this winter for a show at Manchester’s HMV Ritz. This live appearance comes as part of a recently announced full November tour that will see the band play some of its biggest UK venues to date. The band, comprised of sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, have attracted some very well known fans during their brief career. In recent years they’ve opened for the likes of Bright Eyes, Lykke Li and Pattie Smith and next month will see them support Jack White during his sold-out two date stop at Brixton Academy.
Lucrative support slots aside, First Aid Kit are currently enjoying the successes of a very productive year. Having played a handful of UK shows in February, the band saw their enigmatic second album The Lion’s Roar enter into the UK top 40 and sell over 100,000 copies worldwide during its first six weeks of release.
