After leaving their mark at home like no band has done before (more on that in a sec) Portland Oregon’s folk-pop troupe Blind Pilot finally make it to UK shores for a series of dates supporting The Decemberists this month.
Prepare to get pretty familiar with Blind Pilot; they’re a band that has no shortage of gusto. In 2008, like every US band they set out on an extensive tour but unlike any band they did it on bikes, using custom bicycle trailers to haul their equipment from Washington to California and more than two dozen stops in between.
It was this quirky quality and the band’s gentle acoustic tones that won over audiences and sent them from relative obscurity to club headlining status in less than a year. With folk music back on the upswing, Blind Pilot is a welcome edition to this quickly growing scene, be sure to catch them while they’re in town. Tour details and the earthy-toned video for ‘Go On, Say It’ can be found below. Tickets are on sale now.
