Are you a G? If so G-Fest is for you. Acts including Labrinth, Dappy, Maverick Sabre, and Stooshe will be coming to Britain’s newest city, Preston in early September. G-fest has nothing to do with being ‘street’ though, it’s part of the Guild celebrations which take place every twenty years.
Preston Guild is the world’s only year-long festival with a history dating back more than 800 years and is the only one still commemorated in the UK. The full line up also features the genre-splitting collective Clement Marfo & The Frontline, Northern Soul band The Milk, and alternative hip-hop act Abandoman.
The event takes place in Preston’s beautifully serene Avenham Park, an idyll in the city centre. However the usual tranquillity will be swapped for the day in exchange for screaming fans and brash beats. After performing stand-out sets and BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend in June, Labrinth, Dappy and Sabre will no doubt bring more of the same. Tickets are £18 before August 23rd and £23 after. They’re available via Preston Guild here
