Welsh musician Gruff Rhys is set to mark the release of his new solo album Hotel Shampoo by commandeering Blackpool’s Gresham Hotel for a special launch party. Taking place on February 13th, the event will be a seaside send off as Rhys sets out on his first UK tour in over 3 years.
Best known for his collaboration with Super Furry Animals throughout the 90’s, Rhys recently worked with electro-pop band Neon Neon. Singing in a mixture of Welsh (his mother tongue), English and Spanish, he collaborated with De La Soul and Gorrilaz for last year’s Plastic Beach track ‘Superfast Jellyfish’.
Hotel Shampoo is released on February 14th but you can check it out early in the cool media player below along with details of his UK tour.
