Indie-pop songstress Marina Diamandis or Marina and the Diamonds as she’s better known to her fans has announced plans to return to Manchester later this year. The 26 year old Welsh singer is due to play a string of rescheduled UK dates later this month which were delayed due to vocal problems. Here June tour will see Marina play Manchester Cathedral, one of the city’s most atmospheric live music venues. Today she’s announced two additional dates for October, including a stop at Manchester Academy on October 6th and London’s HMV Forum on October 11th.
These shows come three months after the release of her second album Electra Heart, her first full length album since the 2010 LP The Family Jewels. The record showcases her electro-indie-pop persona and boasts tracks such as Primadonna and Bubblegum Bitch. It also features collaborative appearances from the likes of Diplo, Rihanna and Bjork.
