Comedy-rock fans across the nation can rejoice today as Tenacious D reveal plans for an express UK tour. The duo will return to our shores in June for a handful of dates scheduled around their previously announced appearance at this year’s Download Festival at Donington Park. Among their announced dates is a stop at Manchester Apollo on June 10th.
The duo, consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, are due to release their third studio album Rize of The Phoenix on May 15th. Boasting 13 brand new tracks, the record will mark their first collection of new material since 2006’s movie tie-in-effort The Pick of Destiny. It’ll also be the first time the band have step foot on a Mancunion stage in over five years.
O2 early bird tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning, meanwhile everyone else will have to wait until 9am Friday 7th March until they go on general sale. You can check out Tenacious D’s full list of tour dates as well as a taster of their new track Rize of The Phoeniz below.
