Manchester indie quartet The Courteeners will return to home turf this December. Today the band unveiled plans for a special end of year blowout comprising of two hometown shows at the city centre’s O2 Apollo. These homecoming gigs will mark the end of a busy year for the band. 2011 saw The Courteeners headline Wigan’s Haigh Hall and Cheshire’s Delamere Forest, shifting over 15,000 tickets in the process with the later breaking ticket sale records.
The festival season was also kind to these musical Mancs, allowing them to play to huge sunburnt crowds at both V Fest and Isle of White. It’s with this in mind that bandmembers Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel Conan Moores and Mark Cuppello have decided to return to a more intimate setting. The Courteeners will play Manchester’s O2 Apollo on December 8th and 9th.
