Chicago garage-rock outfit The Orwells have revealed plans to tour the UK in late February, pencilling in a stop at Manchester’s Night & Day Café on the 27th. The tour, which also includes a stop at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club, closely follows the band’s support stint for the Arctic Monkeys‘ State-side AM trek and a spot on the Weezer Cruise. They’ll then head to rainy old England for seven shows taking them into March and all across our fine country.
The band’s new one Dirty Sheets was produced by Jim Abbiss; the bloke behind Bombay Bicycle Club‘s I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose and Arctic Monkeys’ storming debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Wailing guitars and pounding drums kick off a slightly more polished offering from a traditionally rough-and-ready five-piece; complete with a pre-chorus riff that’s totally hum-worthy.
