East London quartet Yuck are making quite a name for themselves. After receiving praise reviews for their taster EP Weakend, they were quickly snatched up by Fat Possum records where they began work on their debut album.
Yuck’s laid back, garage rock sound, combining intimate guitars, gentle distortion and heartfelt lyrics quickly attracted a throng of eager fans who helped make their In The City performance last year so memorable.
Supporting fellow Fat Possum band Smith Westerns on their latest tour has placed them firmly on the ones-to-watch radar. As such, Yuck are taking 2011 by the balls, following up last years raucously received Autumn tour with a string of sure to be memorable UK dates before shooting of to make their SXSW debut. We’re confident that, contrary to their name, Yuck is not a word that will be used to describe this band. Expect big things.
