Following two sold out London performances earlier this month the Toronto based noise rock duo Death From Above 1979 have scheduled a Manchester show for this October. The band, who shot to fame in 2004 with their relentless debut You’re A Woman, I’m a Machine, split in 2006 due to unresolvable creative difference between bandmembers Sebastian Grainger and Jesse Keeler.
However, back in February of this year Grainger announced via his blog that the band had put all their problems aside and decided to reform. Their London shows at the tiny HMV Forum marked the first time Death From Above 1979 have graced a UK stage in over five years. Having previously announced a handful of 2011 festival dates (including stops at Reading and Leeds), the band revealed this week that they will return to the UK to play Manchester Academy and Brixton Academy in early October.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd June and can be purchased here.
